What is the difference between the Steelmade Flat Top and a Blackstone Grill?

Having a dedicated, standalone flat top grill like a Blackstone is a great option for some people. However, there are some drawbacks to consider including the cost of a second grill, additional propane expense, and lost patio space. Many people already own a quality propane or charcoal grill. Purchasing a Steelmade Flat Top can be a great compromise that gives you the best of both worlds allowing you to choose between traditional grilling or cooking on a flat top.

There are some differences between the actual cooking surface as well. The key difference is the Blackestones use an 11 gauge material that is around 1/8" thick. Steelmade Flat Tops actually use 7 gauge material that is roughly 50% thicker at 3/16" thick. This thicker steel provides greater thermal mass for quicker, more even cooking. Beyond that they are both constructed from low carbon mild steel, however the Blackstone is made overseas using import steel while ours is constructed of 100% American Steel.

Our Flat Top Grill also includes a Lifetime Warranty while the Blackstone is limited to 1 year.
