Why Sliding May OccurUpdated 22 days ago

Why Sliding May Occur

Ceramic stove surfaces are smooth, which can sometimes make it challenging for the Flat Top to remain completely stationary. This is particularly true if the spacers don’t create enough friction or if the stove’s surface isn’t perfectly level.

Steps to Fix the Sliding Issue

  1. Check the Spacers:

    • Ensure the spacers are properly installed and positioned correctly on the bottom of the Flat Top. They should align with the surface of your ceramic stove to maximize grip.
  2. Clean the Stove Surface:

    • Grease, dust, or debris can reduce friction. Wipe down your ceramic stove with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner, then dry thoroughly before reinstalling the Flat Top.
  3. Add Non-Slip Pads:

    • Consider using heat-resistant, non-slip silicone pads or strips between the Flat Top and your stove’s surface. These can provide extra grip and prevent movement during cooking.
  4. Verify Stove Leveling:

    • Use a level to ensure your stove is completely even. If it’s slightly tilted, adjust the spacers or stove feet (if adjustable) to level the surface.

Safety Tips

  • Always ensure the Flat Top is securely positioned before cooking to avoid accidents.
  • Avoid applying excessive force while cooking, as this may contribute to movement.
